Teachers Are Now Endangered. Apor Era Over. Africa Education Watch Partners WAEC To Set Traps For Leakage Accomplices And Exam Room Helpers

Africa Education Watch, which has been in the forefront of fighting and highlighting malpractices in WAEC run examinations, has taken the fight a little further by partnering with the West Africa Examination Council to set up whistle blower phone lines and emails for people who sense any form of cheating, leakages and examination malpractices to report them in real time.

The flyer announcing the new partnership was emphatic with a message that ‘if you see something unusual before or during WASSCE, call our WASSCE desk 0303975001 or 0201888889’. Cheats could be reported and caught in real time.

The email that was set up by the partnership involving Ghana Education Service (GES) as well, is wasscedesk@eduwatch.info

The announcement, which tried to give confidence to any whistle blower over fears of victimisation at whatever level for doing the right thing to report any malpractice, said “your identity is 100% confidential”

WAEC examination supervisors, invigilators and teachers of various schools now have their integrity, job, salary and their certificates at stake when caught in any manner of malpractice, especially when a private civil society, like Eduwatch, is involved.
