1. Name of Scholarship/internship: The internship program is called Matsumae International Research Fellowship
2. Scholarship/internship type/ Amount/ Benefits: The Matsumae International Research Fellowship is a fully funded scholarship with a monthly allowance of JPY 220,000 to cover expenses for research activities (including materials) and living expenses in Japan. Also, JPY 120,000 is provided to cover part of the initial cost of living in Japan. Round-trip economy class airfare is provided between the nearest international airport from a grantee’s country of residence and Tokyo, Japan. Overseas travel insurance with medical treatment and death benefits is provided.
3. Application/processing fee: There is no application fee and there is no processing fee involved in the application for the fellowship
4. Eligible country of applicants: citizens of all countries with the exception of Japanese are eligible to apply
5. Host institution and/or country: Several institutions in Japan are available to receive selected candidates. The institutions can be found on the official website of the scholarship scheme.
6. Application deadline: The deadline for application for this internship program is 30th June 2023
