TUC Declare Indefinite Strike Over Debt Restructuring [Every union is part. Mother of all strikes. Find details]
1. It will be recalled that the Government of Ghana has announced a domestic debt structuring on all domestic bonds which is being referred to as a hair
2. The domestic debt restructuring that affects all pension funds in the country is argued will make pensioners worse to the extreme based on some of the conditions attached to the restructuring, including a freeze on interest payments in the year 2023.

3. The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has since issued a notice to the government to exempt pension funds from the restructuring program with an ultimatum.
4. However, the government refused to heed the call of labour, which has infuriated the labour unions the more.
5. The Trade Union Congress in a press conference today has no choice than to declare an indefinite strike effective next week, Tuesday, 27th December, 2022.
6. The strike involved all labour unions in the country, including teachers, health workers, local government workers etc.

7. The strike when carried out effectively could totally shut down the country. Perhaps there could be a miracle to avert such a situation.
