Prepare To Stay Home Tomorrow. Teacher Unions Dragged To Labour Commission Over Strike. [What are the end games]
Teaser 1: Prepare to stay home tomorrow too. Or you want to go?
Teaser 2: The court can not serve the unions lawsuit before/after 5:00pm today if the labour commission decides to lay injunction on the unions to resume work
Teaser 3: Reading between the lines of the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations to the Labour Commission, they may try to use the 14 days notice period for any strike as basis to lay injunction on the union leaders
What next for both parties, the teachers and government?
Highlights
1. In what appears to be tactical games between government and teachers in the country, the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations decides to report the teacher unions representing teachers to the National Labour Commission.
2. The teacher unions in return refused to honour a third round of meetings on a third day today at 2:00pm
3. What are the game plan then?
4. National Labour Commission will try to use the judiciary to lay injunction on the strike action as illegal on whatever basis.
5. In the immediate terms, the court can not serve the teacher unions any court process before and after 5:00pm today until tomorrow. The implication therefore is that, the strike continues tomorrow too
6. Also, whether school will resume on Thursday will be determined by the arguments of the union leaders who have the full facts at hand.
