How To Sharpen Your Child’s Brain: Introduction

a) The lessons are less than a page in simple words to understand by the reader/parent

b) The lessons need only 3 minutes to apply without a rush using play

c) Mostly, a short time is the only resource needed without any expenditure to execute the lesson. When expenditure is required, it is at the minimum level that anyone can acquire

d) The lesson is designed to achieve multiple effects simultaneously. For example, creating bonds between parents and the child while sharpening the child’s brain development considerably within a short period of time (5 minutes maximum)

e) Children should be treated like children during these play lessons. And not as adults in a rote classroom.

f) Since it is a play lesson, parents and guardians must not force them to play or overstretch the child. Lack of interest in starting on a particular occasion or loss of interest after starting is a sign to stop playing the lesson. After all, it is just a game and no one must be forced to play.

g) Anyone parent/guardian/care-giver who takes advantage of these lessons would have his ward ahead of their peers even though individual improvement is the focus.

h)Apart from academic improvements, other areas of life’s lessons are enhanced. For example, courtesies, interpersonal relationships, appreciation of nature, morals, religion, team work, choices etc.

Introduction

According to merriam-webster.com, to sharpen is to ‘improve or cause to improve’ something. It also describes sharpen, as to ‘become sharp or sharper’. The opposite description of sharpen, however, is blunt or dull. It therefore means that, without any extra external or internal effort, the subject would be normal. According to Qing Yang etal, 2021, ‘high-quality home parenting environment has a continuous positive effect on the cognitive development of children under five (5) years old’, which includes but not limited to provision of learning support. Your child’s brain will develop or grow with or without anyone’s involvement, albeit a normal process. To provide both external and internal forces for the child’s brain to develop faster than normal, parents and guardians need to get involved, especially during the child’s early years, since children spend more time in the home and have ’empty’ brains to be filled up.

Even at an early age, children make a lot of decisions for themselves that only their previous experience is their guide. Providing age-specific and relevant lessons that improve their logical reasoning ability through play could serve as a foundation on which children can make their age-related application of knowledge, analysis and critical thinking.

The lessons are designed, taking into consideration several factors, of which the most important is the lack of time available for parents to interact with their children on a one-one level. The age or stage of the child is also considered to prevent abusing the child with unrealistic tasks. The environment and available resources considered in the lesson design are at a minimum, where mostly only time is needed without any expenditure. When necessary to spend, the expenditure is at the least level that anyone can acquire.

The results of each lesson are absolutely phenomenal with respect to the short time needed to apply and any little resource that might be used. There would be a strong bond created or generated between the parents and the child and/or bonds between parents themselves. Even though the lessons could improve academic performance greatly and put your child ahead of his/her peers, children’s progress or improvement on an individual basis is the focus. Apart from academic improvements, other areas of life’s lessons are enhanced. For example, courtesies, interpersonal relationships, appreciation of nature, morals, religion, team work, choices etc. Anyone who could not take advantage of the lessons may be lagging behind those who would. You should expect the general appreciation of life and/or environment by the child to be above average.

Any member of the family can help play the lessons with the child. It is advised that parents or guardians or primary care givers get deeply involved and not miss out on the fun and/or parent-child bonding and/or father-mother bonding. The first ten (10) of the lessons are already published and will be released in phases.
