G.E.S Promotions: Criteria For Failing 30% And Passing 70% Of Applicants Disclosed [The Three Teacher Unions Unhappy]
The three teacher unions (GNAT, NAGRAT and CCT) are unhappy about the criteria Ghana Education Service (G.E.S) uses to promote it’s teaching staff, which results in high failure rate of applicants, around 30%.

The teacher unions are therefore calling on the employer to review it’s criteria to meet the standard set procedure agreed that is supposed to be used in promoting it’s staff.

In a press release on the 27th September, 2022, signed by the three teacher unions, the following disclosure was made:

“In our last meeting, it was noted that promotions in the Ghana Education Service (G.E.S) shall be made according to merit and in accordance with the Scheme of Service. It was also, observed that in determining an individual’s claim for promotion, accordance shall be taken of qualification, experience, efficiency, seniority, sense of responsibility, initiative, general behavior and where relevant, the powers of leadership, expression and the requisite attendance of in-service training course enjoined by the Collective Agreement.
