Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum Donated To Odorgonno SHS Welfare Fund

The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum continue to visit schools unannounced. The practice of visiting schools which can be considered as contemporary and progressive of a minister in Ghana. The minister, Dr. Adutwum donated to Odorgonno SHS welfare fund when he visited. The minister, however, does not donate to all the schools he visits. It is yet to be known the criteria the minister used to donate to schools’ welfare funds.

Also unknown is the source of funds the minister used to donate to the schools’ welfare funds. That is whether the minister used his personal resources or he uses the budget of the Education ministry. Below is the account of the Minister’s visit and how he donated to Odorgonno SHS Teachers’ Welfare Fund as well as the Development Fund of the school.

“I paid an unannounced visit to Odorgonno Senior High School in Accra on Friday 10th March 2023.

I motivated the students to take their studies seriously and be focused because, with determination and perseverance, they can be whoever they aspire to become in the future.

I promised to build a science laboratory for the school since there has not been a functioning science laboratory in the school for a very long time.

I also pledged some amount of money to the school development fund and the teachers’ welfare fund. I finally stopped by the school’s kitchen to show appreciation to the kitchen staff for their good and dedicated services to the school.

The staff and students of Odorgonno SHS expressed their profound gratitude for the surprise visit and the pledge made in respect of donations.”
