Dear director general, it is very difficult, virtually impossible, for any teacher in the country to openly complain about his or her situation. This is because of the perceived possibility of victimization that could follow in the future.

Therefore, any teacher, especially any lady teacher that comes out to complain actually deserves attention.

Sir, you have already started leaving an unprecedented mark as the Director General of the largest workforce, GES, in the country. Especially when you protect the welfare of teachers. An example is when your office called to order when some directors tried to transfer teachers after an academic year had started. After the teachers had paid rent and planned their lives around their existing stations.

Sir, this lady teacher spent over six (6) years in her current station. This number of years is more than the required number of years that qualifies any teacher for a transfer.

The lady teacher explained she had an assurance letter from another district to process her transfer or reposting request. She obtained the assurance letter from Accra. However, officials in her existing district, Nkwanta District, refused to process her transfer request.

Reason for refusing here transfer

The reason for their refusal was that they did not have enough teachers in the district. However, the lady said she tried all means to get the director to endorse her transfer but to no avail. Even after falling on relevant stakeholders to intervene.

The depressed lady said her heart was out of the place and contemplating the worse.

Dear Director General, do not let the worse happen before the whole country says “if they had known”, the lady teacher concluded.
