Dear DG, Aveyime Battor SHS in darkness for over 2 Weeks despite WASSCE in the Corner
Aveyime Battor Senior High Technical School, ABAST, has been in darkness for over two (2) weeks. The Electricity Company of Ghana disconnected Aveyime Battor SHS over non-payment of bills.
The Electricity Company of Ghana, ECG, disconnected the school on Wednesday 12th July 2023. The school which is a boarding school has candidates who are preparing for this year’s West African Secondary School Certificate Examination, WASSCE.
Unavailability of electricity in the school has led to non-observance of prep by students.
Students also engage in immoral activities in the evenings/nights.
The situation also led to non-teaching of subjects topics that require the use of electricity power.
Typing and non-printing of relevant documents by school administration has also stopped.
More serious is the fact that the school cannot print examination questions for students in the end of second semester examination and the fact that the school may not have electricity power to organize English Orals waec examination in the up coming 2023 WASSCE.
It is unclear the action that school authorities are taking to restore power to Aveyime Battor SHS to restore all activities that were halted because of no electricity.
