Public sector pre-tertiary school teachers are on strike virtually for about five (5) working days with no clear sign of what the end game will be. It is for this reason that a key stakeholder in the education space in the country, Kofi Asare, the CEO of Africa Education Watch, has recommended a solution to both the striking teachers and their employer.

Kofi Asare, who stated two possible realities as the end game of the teachers’ strike, seemed to be a bit confused about the situation. He disclosed those options as:

No. 2. There is no teacher in the classroom.

Kofi Asare, however, offered his recommendation for the precarious situation as ‘negotiation’ that ‘both parties can agree on deferred payment against next year’s budget with the provision that, ‘immediate, effective measures are put in place to halt fuel and food inflation’.
