Reconstruction/Recovery Cost In Ukraine Estimated After One Year Of The War

🇪🇺 A new joint assessment released today by the Government of Ukraine, the World Bank Group, the European Commission, and the United Nations, estimates that the reconstruction/recovery cost in Ukraine Estimated has grown to US $411 billion (equivalent to €383 billion).

The estimate covers the one-year period from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, to the first anniversary of the war on February 24, 2023. The cost of reconstruction and recovery is expected to stretch over 10 years and combines both needs for public and private funds.

This second Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDNA2) provides a comprehensive evaluation of war impacts across twenty different sectors. It quantifies the direct physical damage to infrastructure and buildings and describes the impact on people’s lives and livelihoods.

The assessment will help donors channel funds to the priority sectors on the ground. It is important to ensure fast recovery and basic services for the population, namely energy, education and health infrastructure and housing

🇺🇦 У новій спільній доповіді, оприлюдненій сьогодні урядом України, Світовим банком, Європейською комісією та Організацією Об’єднаних Націй, оцінюється, що вартість відбудови та відновлення України зросла до 411 мільярдів доларів США (383 мільярди євро).

Ця оцінка охоплює річний період від вторгнення Росії в Україну 24 лютого 2022 року до першої річниці війни 24 лютого 2023 року. Очікується, що витрати на реконструкцію та відновлення розтягнуться на 10 років і включатимуть як державні, так і приватні кошти.

Це вже другий Звіт про швидку оцінку збитків та потреб. Він надає комплексну оцінку наслідків війни у двадцяти різних секторах, а також кількісно оцінює прямі фізичні пошкодження інфраструктури та будівель, а також описує їхній вплив на життя людей.

Ця оцінка допоможе донорам спрямувати кошти в пріоритетні сектори на місцях. Важливо забезпечити швидке відновлення та базові послуги для населення, а саме: енергетику, освітню та медичну інфраструктуру, житло.
