87 graduate from ADAMUS mining women empowerment skill training
ADAMUS mining resources: As part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, about 87 out of 100 selected women in the various host communities in the ellembelle district of western region have graduated from four different skill acquisition programmes.
The Graduands received certificate and starter kits from ADAMUS mining resources.
The program outline
The programmes cut across wide range of vocational skills such as make up artistry, product formulation, Hair technology and millinery and accessories marked the successful completion of the maiden edition of the project.
The three months skilled programme, organized by ADAMUS mining resource limited and facilitated by CBAE was aimed at empowering women and developing entrepreneurial skills around it’s catchment areas.
The general manager of ADAMUS mining resources
In his welcome address, the general manager of the company Mr Alex Hagan said before the company’s commencement of its commercial production in 2011, some host community members had been trained in the various skill acquisition programmes and would continue to maintain close collaboration with KIkam Technical Institute (KIMTECH) in the quest to equip impacted communities with skills to making decent living.
He hinted that, ADAMUS Mining resource had built the capacity of twenty selected community members in mine related skills and would soon be graduated.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony held at Ampain, Nzema maanle complex on Saturday, Miss Angela Liss congratulated the trainees and said the initiative was a demonstration of Adamus’s commitment toward capacity building and women empowerment and also an intervention target at providing vocational skills to the women population and making them employable
Miss Liss urged Graduands to be more focused and diligent in whatever they do and serve as frontier to others.
She expressed optimism that the trainees would exhibit excellent customer service, devoid of over confident and complacency in execution of their businesses.
The regional minister
Hon Okyere Darko Mensah, western regional minister who chaired the occasion lauded the company and appealed to the newly graduated women to be good ambassadors to their district and the country
The DCE
Speaking to media, the district chief executive for ellembelle Hon Kwasi Bonzoh expressed his profound gratitude to the company for the initiative.
Mr Bonzoh said the assembly was collaborating with Adamus to establish factory for the newly trainees to work as corporative.
