The “Forum”, which has a membership of over 12 unions in the country, it appears over 5 of them do not want to associate with the “forum” in the manner they did previously.

In the latest press release by the “forum” with respect to their reservation over the upcoming pension fund haircut, only seven (7) of the labour unions apend their signature.

Notably missing on the list of signatures which is trying to take on the government over the intended pension “haircut” is the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT).

It is unclear why over 5 of the labour unions which were part of the forum decided not to sign the press release they are all supposed to sign. However, the clearest indication could be that of division based on fundamental differences in political affinity
