Some teachers are risking their job and certificates for Ghc5,000.00, according to Kofi Asare, the CEO of Africa Education Watch.
In a press release by WAEC, it said “the council wishes to bring to the attention of stakeholders and members of the public, a number of issues which are emerging from the conduct of the examination”.
You can never tell who in your school is recruited by national security!!
The press release concluded by saying “the council is working closely with the Ghana Education Service, National Intelligence Bureau and other security operatives to check infringements”. And that “some hot spots have been identified and monitoring of these centers has been intensified.”
The shortlist of the types of cheating ongoing, according to WAEC are:
1. Restriction of access to school compounds for monitoring purposes
2. Smuggling of mobile phones into examination halls by candidates
3. Impersonation
4. Syndicate cheating in schools
