Ask them the local executives. Next time you meet any school rep or local executive, ask him or her why they are unable to demand voting rights. Download Telegram from playstore to join over 11,000 GNAT members requesting voting rights for school reps and all local executived to elect National officers
The current delegate system in place within GNAT is understandable up to the year 2000 due to several factors including the levels of constructed road networks and telecommunication networks in the country.
The delegate system in GNAT could also be understood up to the year 2010 due to the limited availability of mobile application experts, mobile handsets in the hands of teachers, the ability of old teachers to operate handsets and the quality of mobile networks across the country.
The justification illustrated above for the delegate system in GNAT up to 2010 is to enable easy coordination and organisation of the decision-making body by GNAT.
Teaser: However, times have changed. After the year 2010, all those justifications are non-existent. And even when there is any minor presence of any, there would be a solution to it unlike in the distant past years.
The question then is , why are school reps and/or local executives of GNAT unable to demand that they own GNAT and take part in major decision making like the election of all national executives, regional executives and district executives. The benefits of these grassroots members of the union participating in these elections can not be over emphasized and/or need to be taught. Next time you meet any school rep or local executive, ask him or her why they are unable to demand voting rights.
We shall be back with solutions to any argument anticipated to be propounded.
