How Good Oral Hygiene Protects Your Heart
How good oral hygiene protects your heart: The heart is one the major organs in the body and needs to be protected as much as we can. Poor oral hygiene is failure to remove food debris and bacterial plaque from the teeth and it’s structures.
It’s advisable to rinse your mouth with water after each meal to get rid of food debris and also brush your teeth twice a day to protect your heart.
Research have shown that people who have poor oral hygiene have higher risk of developing cardiovascular diseases such as stroke , heart attack than those with good oral hygiene.
Oral health can cause heart disease by the spread of bacterial or other germs from your mouth to other parts of the body through the blood stream . This can cause inflammation and form a clot in the blood vessels , this can cause a stroke or heart attack, also these bacterias can attach themselves to any part of the heart and begin to cause damage to that part of the heart.
Practicing good oral hygiene is more important than other people think it is , because most of us aren’t aware that poor oral hygiene can cause other health problems including heart diseases.
