GES Request for Resubmission of Outstanding Salary/Allowance Issues Insulting- Ellis Ferdinand [Watch out for his words]
In a Facebook post, Ellis Ferdinand, Education blogger and CEO of Educationghana.org, expressed frustration and anger towards the Ghana Education Service’s recent letter requesting that teachers resubmit documents for consideration of upgrading, promotion grants, and other issues. Ferdinand accuses the ministry of lacking a serious attitude towards management and leadership, allowing its employees to be ridiculed by society.

According to Ferdinand, teachers who have already submitted these documents multiple times are now being asked to resubmit them once again, despite their salary and allowance issues still not being resolved. He also highlights the injustice of teachers being “victimized” but still defending their poor leaders due to relationships, political affiliations, and other personal ties.

The letter from the service, which was shared by Ferdinand, requests that regional directors resubmit outstanding salary and allowance issues to the Ag. Director of Human Resource Management and Development by the end of the day on Friday, December 30th, 2022. Issues listed include upgrading and salary adjustment, transfer grants, responsibility allowance, and junior rank promotion for both teaching and non-teaching staff.

Ferdinand’s post has sparked outrage among teachers and education advocates, with many expressing their own frustration and disappointment with the service’s actions. It remains to be seen how the ministry will respond to these criticisms and address the outstanding salary and allowance issues facing its staff.
