G.E.S Rule On Financial Transactions Among Staff, Especially The Type Of Loans A Staff Can Give A Colleague Staff

Teaser 1: It may interest you to know that Ghana Education Service has a rule that regulates how loans among staff are conducted.

Teaser 2: Ghana Education Service code of conduct does not tolerate certain financial obligations by the staff and the public.

Teaser 3: ‘No staff may advance any loan or whatsoever to another staff with interest’, part of the rule says, as contained in the code of conduct for G.E.S staff.

Teaser 4: For teachers who are into the mobile money business or ice-cream trade, ‘no staff shall trade or transact any private financial business on the school premises during school hours’, according to the rule

For various or whatever reasons, Ghana Education Service has a rule that regulates the financial dealings of staff between his or her colleagues and/or the public. The rules are as follows.

What Misconduct Is, According To G.E.S Codes Of Conduct.

1. No staff may advance any loan, or whatsoever to another staff with interest or act as intermidiary between any staff, registered or recognized money lender or take part in collecting debts on behalf of any money lender.

2. Financial embarrassment may result in disciplinary proceedings being taken against him or her

3. It is the duty of the head of the institution to report to the Director General through the appropriate channel any staff serving under him or her who, according to his or her knowledge, is in persistent financial embarrassment.

4. All cases of financial embarrassment shall be noted in the service record of the staff.

5. No staff shall engage in any other financial or economic activity at the work place.

6. No staff shall trade or transact any private financial business on the school premises during school hours.
