Don’t Attend Paid NTC/CPD Workshops Doesn’t Mean Don’t Build Points, According To GNAT

1. Lack of clear communication could be worse than not saying anything.

2. It is a public allegation now that GNAT and other sister teacher unions have asked teachers not to attend Paid workshops for the purposes of building Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points that are being demanded by the National Teaching Council (NTC).

3. The all important, overriding message that is missing in the alleged communication by the teacher unions is whether teachers should not build points at all.

4. The only very clear message allegedly given to teachers by the union is that teachers should not pay for any workshop.

5. The deduction that can be made from this alleged statement by the unions is that you must build your points from free sources. Therefore, the unions definitely are still in support of the points building and may not come to the aid of any teacher who does not have the required points when the time for licence renewal arrives.
