Teachers in Ghana received Continuous Development Allowance in the years 2020 and 2021.

Payments of the CPD allowance were not without controversies in the name of deductions for both teacher’s license and laptops during the 2020 and 2021 payments respectively.

Probably the worst is about to happen this year when the CPD allowance may not be paid.

The three teacher unions were forced to serve the following notice to the employer based on whatever signal they might have picked.

The three teacher unions, Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers, wrote a letter to the employer reminding them about the agreement they had to pay the CPD allowance before the end of the year.

The understanding that the payment of this CPD allowance has come to stay means the employer might not need to be reminded to effect payment. It might only be the fear of non-payment that the three teacher unions would write a letter to remind the employer of such. Below is the letter written by the teachers unions
