The liver is one of the major organs in the body. It performs important Functions in the body. Everyone has just one liver and when it’s damaged it’s very expensive to replace it or get one to replace since everyone has just one liver.

Alcoholic Liver Disease is a damage to the liver due to excessive and prolonged alcohol consumption.
The liver is capable of regenerating itself. Any time the liver filters alcohol in the body some of its cells dies hence, frequent alcohol consumption kills the liver cells leading to build up of fat, inflammation and scaring there by damaging the liver.

Some Signs and symptoms are
1. Fatigue
2. Pain in the right upper abdomen
3. Yellowing of the skin and white part of the eye
4. Edema of the feet and the abdomen
5. Loss of appetite
6. Nausea and vomiting
7. Abdominal pain and tenderness
8. Feeling ill
9. Dry mouth and increased thirst
Complications
1. Portal hypertension ( Blood Pressure in the vein that supplies blood to the liver )
2. Ascites ( Accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity )
3. Bleeding from the stomach
4. Hepatic encephalopathy( A decline in brain function due to servere liver disease )
5. Liver cancer
