The minister of education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has decided to honour some of his former teachers in style
The gesture, which is rare, was observed both at church and at home.
The former teachers of the education Minister were full of joy, just like most teachers, to have their former student acknowledge them and honour them, especially at their advanced age.
One of the former teachers, who is at age 96 presently, was remembered for her kind words as a primary one (1) aside from her commitment to duty.
A statement on the Facebook wall of the education Minister accompanied by pictures read: ‘I was happy to honour Mr. Ankamah at church yesterday. Mr. Ankamah was one of the teachers who prepared me for my Common Entrance exams.’
The education Minister, who acknowledged the relevance of teachers in his life, said ‘right from primary to tertiary, my teachers have invested greatly in me, and for this, I am eternally grateful to them all.’
The statement continued, ‘later in the morning I visited and honored Ms. Clara Opong at her residence in Jachie. 96 years old, Ms Clara was my primary one teacher at Jachie Anglican Primary School. In addition to her commitment to teaching, her kind words and motivation build a solid foundation for me’. The minister concluded by saying ‘may God bless all teachers’.
