Schools in Volo Circuit Display Rich Culture [Videos attached]

Schools in the Volo circuit in the North Tongu District of Volta Region observed their culture week today, 12th July. The schools produced various scenes of Ghanaian culture. The culture week is part of the curriculum of the school system. Despite the disruption caused by rainfall, the teachers and organisers were clear in their action. That is, they were determined that the program must happen.

Culture week is a week that is set aside in the schools’ calendar where learners compete in cultural activities. The competition starts from the circuit level. Volo circuit therefore decided to hold their competition today.

 

The program display showed teachers in the Volo circuit took the program very seriously and trained the learners very well for the program activities.

 

Every school produced four different types of drumming and dancing. In addition, some schools produced spectacular talking drums.

 

Some learners also performed rich poetry. The topics vary from local to national messages.

 

A very interesting part of the program is when a R/C Junior High School learner showcased her hand-sowed dress. She was encouraged to produce a catwalk with her dress. She received funds from the observing public for her initiative.

 

Then came Kpekpo shatta/ stone. A JHS learner from Kpekpo performed sound tracks by Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. Watch video.

 

Agu Prince from Volo R/C was the image that artists from the various schools must draw. He was asked to sit in a posture that artists must watch and draw.

 

Aforklinu Christopher, whose stage name is Kofi Sark, performed his own track. Kofi Sark attends Afawode JHS
