Non-professional Teachers Have One Year To Complete Professional Course Or You Write Licensure Examination
1. According to a circular allegedly signed by Dr. Christian Addai-Poku, the registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC) and copied to the National Teaching Council (NTC) Board members, Non-professional teachers have been granted a special dispensation to be granted a Teaching Licence.
2. However, such non-professional teachers must acquire a professional teaching certificate and upload the same to the Teacher Portal Ghana on the National Teaching Council (NTC) website before being granted this opportunity.

3. More importantly, the notice stated “it is further announced that this special dispensation expires on the 31st of December 2024”

4. The deduction from this notice, taking a clue from the fact that most tertiary institutions take about a year to issue their certificates to sandwich or distance learning graduates, the assumption is that non+professionals must finish their programs one clear year before the National Teaching Council deadline to be sure of collecting their certificates from their institutions of study to be able to use it for the NTC licensure purpose
