Kofi Asare Revealed Why G.E.S Officers Demand Money From Subordinates [Scary situation]
1. It is an open secret that nothing gets to be done in the Ghana Education Service for teachers without such teachers paying money for it, even though it is considered illegal for superior officers to take from them
2. Activities such as those pertaining to confirmation of new staff, promotion of junior officers, processing of salary or allowance issues are all paid for in various ways.

3. Though it may not be a justification for collecting such monies from subordinate teachers, the revelation by the CEO of Africa Education Watch with respect to how much budgeted funding that is released to run district officers is an eye raiser.
4. In a series of queries from both 2022 budget and the 2023 budget, Kofi Asare disclosed that:
“Out of GHC 60k administrative grants approved for running District Education Offices to manage and supervise education delivery in 2022, including buying fuel and stationery, less than 10% was released to our districts.”

5. He ended up concluding that the situation “ain’t transformation!”
