Government And Teachers Unions Taking Entrenched Position On The Strike [Find out next move by each party here]

Highlights
1. Government, through the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations have disclosed the game plan by government and their next move
2. After a third round of negotiations between teachers unions and government could not come on because the government referred the matter to the National Labour Commission which has the authority of a high court, it ruled that teacher unions must call off the strike because it did not follow due process and re-engagement between the parties continue and report back within a week.
3. The government side is entrenched on their position that the strike must be called off before they can engage the union going forward according to the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations in a Citifm news interview in the morning of 10th November 2022.
4. About 24 hours after the directive to the unions to call of the strike, they are yet to issue a statement to their members to resume work under the guise that they are consulting their national councils
5. The teachers unions therefore have three (3) strategies to frustrate the intimidation tactics of the government.
a. Call of the strike on the morning of Friday 11th or deep in the evening of Thursday 10th in which case school will be distracted on the Friday until Monday on both scenarios
b. Call of the strike over the weekend in which case they will not be in school even partially on Thursday and Friday
c. Teacher Unions will wait remain adamant to call of the strike until government proceed to the court to try to enforce contempt charges against the union leaders for disobeying the National Labour Commission which has the power of a high court
