Cheating In BECE Is An Equity Intervention, Allow Us. Eduwatch Told

Below is a brief of reports received by the Africa Education Watch and publish by the CEO, Kofi Asare.

“I have received two categories of messages ahead of BECE; first, tip-offs on planned cheating at BECE Centers, which is regular and cultural. Unfortunately, Eduwatch does not monitor BECE at Centers.

The other category of messages are from those who believe that, in view of the level of deprivation of rural schools, we should allow the candidates to cheat.

According to them, if teachers don’t help rural children to cheat at BECE, they will perform poorly compared to their urban counterparts who have the benefit of better teaching and learning resources.

In essence, the organized cheating in some rural schools is an equity intervention.

Do they have a point?

PS: Least i forget, our 2022 WASSCE Monitoring Report is now finalized. We are waiting for an Executive Briefing with the Minister of Education, WAEC, and BNI before publishing.”
