YEA Opens Application for Youth in ICT (Digital Training Module)

The Youth Employment Agency, YEA opens its portal to receive applications from applicants who want to be trained in ICT. Students and would-be beneficiaries can apply for any of the following three (3) areas of interest:

A. BASIC DIGITAL SKILLS

Microsoft Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project

Social Media – Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter (X) and Instagram

Email (Microsoft Outlook) – Scheduling and Managing Events; Managing Appointments.

A.I Tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney and Others)

Requirements

The selected applicants for this course must:

Be Junior, senior high school or tertiary graduates.

B. INTERMEDIATE DIGITAL SKILLS

Introduction to Python and Web

Front-end Development using React

Web Design

Graphic Design

Requirements

The selected applicants for this course must:

Be senior high school or tertiary graduates.

Have prior experience of using digital devices (computers, laptops, tablets) or the internet.

C. ADVANCE DIGITAL SKILLS

Data Analytics (Data Virtualization, Analysis and Others) using Python (A.Ι)

Machine Learning using Python (A.I)

Cloud Computing

Requirements

The selected applicants for this course must:

Be tertiary graduates or technology professionals who wish to acquire advanced digital skills for specific professional applications or projects.

Have prior experience of using digital devices (computers, laptops, tablets) or the internet.

About YEA

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT AGENCY

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) was established under the Youth Employment Act 2015 (Act 887) to empower young people to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic and sustainable development of the nation. Its objective is to support the youth between the ages of 15 to 35 years through skills training and internship modules to transit from a situation of unemployment to that of employment.
To ensure sustainability, the policy focus of YEA was changed in 2009 from the traditional modules which have pay roll implications to the self-employment modules such as Trades and Vocation modules through public private partnership so as to reduce the burden on payment of stipend for the Paid Internship Module. This has attracted International acclaim, with the BBC ranking YEA as the best Youth Employment Programme in Africa in 2011.
