WAEC Statement About 2023 BECE Registration And Examination Dates For Both School And Private Candidates

The West Examination Council, WAEC, has released official statement regarding the registration process and dates and the examination dates. The statement concerning the 2023 BECE registration and examination dates was issued today Wednesday 15th March 2023. The part of the statement which dealt with the 2023 BECE registration and examination dates read:

 

BECE For School & Private candidates 2023

The BECE for school and private candidates, 2023 will be administered from Monday 7th to Friday 11th August 2023. The council will hold briefing sections for all stakeholders who will be involved in the registration of candidates from Tuesday 21st to Friday 24th March 2023. The registration portal for the registration of eligible candidates will be opened from Monday 27th March to Friday 28th April 2023.

As indicated earlier, it is important for all candidates to ensure that their bio data is captured accurately and that they are registered for the correct subject. School authorities are urged to ensure that they registered candidates for the correct Ghanaian language and Basic Design Technology options. As with WASSCE (SC), access arrangements will be made for candidates with special educational needs. The revised rules will also apply for the BECE as well. Once again heads of schools are being cautioned against the registration of unqualified candidates which could lead to nullification of a candidate’s results.

The Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE, is conducted every year for final year students of Junior High Schools in the country. Both public and private Junior High Schools sit for the examination. Also, candidates from previous years have the opportunity to re-sit for the BECE examination in an attempt to better the previous results.
