WAEC Officials Adopting New Schemes With Security Officials To Grab Cheating And Aiding Invigilators [Beware]

1. It is a fact that the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) is struggling to contain examination malpractices during nationwide exams organised by them.

2. Even with the help of the national security apparatus, the phenomenon of examination malpractices continues to elude efforts to contain the practice.

3. In a scheme adopted during the just ended WASSCE examination, the examination body together with security services rather zone examination centers to make examples out of cheating centers

4. The scheme involved external examination supervisors visiting examination centers earlier on one of the examination days to tell invigilators that they would not be visiting such centers again for the rest of the examination only to surprise those centers with a visit using an unconventional mode of transport like walking or using a motorbike (Okada).

5. And since catching an examination cheat could aid the promotion of such WAEC and BNI officials, being a culprit is thus synonymous with joy for the WAEC and BNI officials.
