NTC/G.E.S Strategized For Teachers To Acquire CPD Points

In a letter dated 2nd October, 2022, the National Teaching Council (NTC) have directed Ghana Education Service to strategies for it’s staff to acquire the minimum Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points.

Below are the details of the letter.

1. “Data available to the council indicates that over one hundred thousand (100,000) of your staff have not accrued a single CPD since their registration numbers were issued.”

2. “Presently, only four thousand out of over three hundred thousand teachers are potentially able to meet the minimum CPD points by the end of next year”

3. The National Teaching Council (NTC) letter to the Ghana Education Service concluded: “the trend of your employees’ compliance with the prescription of the law is worrisome and your immediate intervention to forestall us coming to the brink of legal dilemma”

4 “This preemptive communication is to enable us to strategise ahead of time and ensure that no teacher is unduly affected”

5. “The NTC therefore calls on you as the employer of a large number of teachers to strategies how you can support your staff to work consciously towards compliance”.
