Everyone Has One Liver. Good Foods For The Liver

It is appropriate to consciously take good care of our liver, since each individual has just one liver and a liver transplant is very difficult to come by, even for those who have the financial ability.

The liver performs a lot of tasks in the body. The liver is one of the largest organs in the body. The main function of the liver is detoxification of the body. It helps the body to get rid of toxins. The liver also helps to metabolize protein, carbohydrates and fats. The liver stores vitamins and minerals and releases them into the blood when those minerals are needed.

The liver regulates blood sugar in the body. When blood sugar increases, the liver removes the excess sugar from the blood and stores it as glycogen and when blood sugar becomes low, the liver breaks down the stored glycogen into glucose and releases it into the blood for the body to use as energy.

The liver is a very important organ in the body and needs to be taken care of, especially with the kind of foods we eat. There are foods that are very healthy for our liver and some of them are:

1. Garlic: Supplementing your diet with garlic is really essential for liver health. Garlic contains a mineral called selenium which cleans the liver, triggers liver enzymes and naturally flushes out toxins from the body.

2 . Avocados: Avocados can help lower blood lipids or fat and help to prevent liver damage. Avocados have high fibre, healthy fat and high water content, which helps the liver heal itself. The fat in avocado can help the liver to heal from damage.
