According to 3news.com, “on Tuesday, July 26, the accused persons armed with clubs attacked three teachers of the Ayinasin Methodist Basic School and harrassed one of the teachers to kneel down as his punishment for accusing them of supplying drugs to the junior high school (JHS) students”

A report was, however, made to the police on the 1st of August, 2022, after the Municipal Director of Education had visited the school on a Thursday, 28th July, 2022. The arrest of eleven (11) suspects was effected, including two (2) minors for prosecution.

In a record time of less than two (2) weeks of court proceedings, a judgment was pronounced today, 9th August, 2022 on nine (9) of the suspects, while the two (2) minors await determination of their case next week after a social enquiry report from Social Welfare Department.

The judgement pronounced on the nine (9) suspects were between 150 penalty units and 250 penalty units, translating into between Ghc1,800.00 and Ghc3,000.00.

Though the teachers were happy not just about the fines imposed on the suspects, they were equally happy about the speed of the trials.
